Interreg Cooperation Day 2025 in the Greater Region will bring together practitioners, experts and policy makers for two days to discuss the future of European cohesion policy, with a particular focus on the essential role of border regions. Through conferences, round tables and direct exchanges, this event will offer a unique opportunity to share ideas, enrich experiences and strengthen links between territories and their stakeholders.

Much more than just a meeting, this edition aims to be a moment of collective reflection on how to make cross-border cooperation more coherent, visible and truly aligned with the needs of citizens and territories.

Thursday, 18 September: The Interreg Programme in action: a lever for cross-border cooperation

For 35 years, the Interreg Programme has been working to bring territories closer together, to cross borders and to create collective solutions to shared challenges.

To celebrate this anniversary, this first day of exchanges highlights the concrete impact of Interreg, both in the Greater Region and beyond. On the agenda: dynamic presentations, enriching exchanges between different Interreg programmes and a unique networking opportunity.

Location: Esch-sur-Alzette, Hôtel de Ville, Salle du Conseil, followed by visits to the Belval site and an aperitif in Belval (Luxembourg).

Friday, 19 September: The future of cross-border cooperation in Europe: Prospects and challenges for cohesion policy

The second day is structured around two key events. In the morning, interactive workshops will provide a forum for discussion on key themes for the future of cross-border cooperation: governance, citizenship, territorial observation and innovation for a more sustainable Europe. The afternoon will be devoted to a round table discussion focusing on the future prospects for cohesion policy, concluding the day with a strategic debate.
